John G. “Jack” Wight, 88, Blue Springs, MO, died Sunday, January 6, 2008, at Rosewood Health Center. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 12, in the Community Room at The Groves. Visitation will be 7-8:30 pm Friday, January 11, at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Private burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Outreach International. P.O. Box 210, Independence, MO 64051. Mr. Wight was born April 8, 1919, in Lamoni, IA, to Leslie and Lydia Wight. He attended Graceland College, then served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Jack was married to Leola Jane (Brady) Wight in 1945, then accepted church appointment with the Community of Christ, where he served for forty years as a full-time minister for Jesus Christ. He served as a Seventy for many years, then as a High Priest, and finally as an Evangelist. He was superannuated in 1984, continuing to serve the church and community in a variety of ways. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gordon Stewart Wight. He is survived by his wife, Jane Wight, of the home; two children, Joan Munter, Salem, IL, and John S.
