After she graduated from high school, she moved to West Virginia, married, and had a daughter, Melissa. In 1985, Donella moved back to Independence and spent the next 35+ years working at the Social Security Administration, where she was still employed as a Post Entitlement Technical Expert at the time of her passing. Donella enjoyed her time at SSA, teaching, mentoring, and working with friends. Donella loved roses, specifically red and burgundy. She enjoyed camping with her family, exploring caves with her daughter and antique shopping with her mother. She was a member of the Missouri State Campers Association and Family Campers and RVers. Donella is survived by her mother, Luella; daughter, Melissa Partin; sisters, Dianne (Jim) Evans, Denise (Charlie) Evans, Deborah Sprague, Donna (Steve) Bollinger, and Dawn (Todd) Mayse; and nieces and nephews, Justin Evans, Ryan Evans, Alycia Packham, Cara Bollinger, Kenneth Bollinger, Carson Bollinger, Katherine Bollinger, Garret Mayse, and Grant Mayse. She is preceded in death by her father, Donald; and brother, Derald. Donella believed in helping others and donated to numerous charities. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests financial donations be made to a charity that is personal to you. Donella would smile knowing that many charities received contributions.
