Elinor Wilkins, 90 of Independence, died Thu. Aug. 9, 2007 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Visitation will be 5 �" 6:30 pm, Tue. Aug 14, 2007 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Private inurnment will be at a later date. Contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. Mrs. Wilkins was born on Sep. 7, 1916 to George and Mary (Andrews) Warren in Wessington, SD. She married Robert Wilkins in Lead, SD in 1938, moving to Independence in 1941. She retired from the Independence Regional Hospital in 1982. Elinor was a loving mother and grandmother and was an avid baseball fan; the Kansas City Royals in particular, but she enjoyed all other sports as well. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert; her parents, George and Mary (Andrews) Warren; three brothers, Lyle Warren, Kyle Warren and Billy Warren; two sisters, Eileen Millet and Lee Shapro. Her survivors include, five daughters, Sue Kerley and husband Tom of Oakley, CA; Lynnette Koenig and husband Gary of Independence; Bonnie Stalker, of Independence; Mary Beth Dow and Jo Ann Wilkins, both of Appleton City, MO. Seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a brother, Thomas Warren and wife Clarice of Salem, OR, a sister, Jeannette Burbank of Valencia, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
