Ruby Frances Wilks, 94 of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Rosewood Health Center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Burial will follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m., until service time Wednesday at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to the River Blvd. Baptist Church. Ruby was born August 31, 1924 in Kansas City, Mo to Joseph William and Della Lee (Walker) Irwin and has been a lifetime area resident. She was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed bowling, dancing and crossword puzzles. She was a longtime member of the River Blvd. Baptist Church. She is survived by; her loving husband of 75 years, Leon of the home; a son, Dennis Wilks and wife Norma of Independence, MO; a brother, Marty Irwin of Independence, MO; 2 grandchildren, Brent Wilks and Kim Griffith (Marc); 3 great grandchildren, Devin Griffith, Rylee Griffith and Dalton Wilks (Amanda and 2 great great grandchildren, Olivia Wilks and Emersyn Wilks.
