Willard Wayne Lanam, 84 of Lees Summit, MO passed away Friday, May 3, 2024 at St. Lukes on the Plaza. Cremation is planned with a celebration of life gathering will be held from 4 to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the The Meadows Community Room at John Knox Village, 1800 NW O’Brien Rd., Lee’s Summit, MO 64081. Willard was born March 24, 1940, in Miami, OK to Henry Willard and Dalma (Stapleton) Lanam and has been a longtime area resident. He worked as a store manager in retail sales, most recently for Sam’s Wholesale Club. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports, woodworking, traveling, playing guitar, antique cars and, most of all, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Woods Chapel United Methodist Church. He is survived by; his wife, Connie of the home; 2 daughters, Lisa Slade and husband Scott of Round Rock, TX and Stephanie Allen and husband Patrick of Blue Springs, MO; a sister, Jean Ranstead of Vista, CA; 3 grandchildren, Grace Allen, Grant Allen and Jordan Lanam and wife Heather and a great granddaughter, Violet Lanam. He was preceded in death by his parents, a half-brother, John Cherry and a son, Michael Lanam in 1998.
