William Joseph Besch

William Joseph Besch passed away in the home on Monday, January 13, 2025. He is survived by his wife Lois; children, Mary, Lori; step children, Regina, Shelia, Kevin; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. 

A loving, devoted father and husband. Born in Kansas City Hospital on March 28th, 1938.

Parents, John E. Besch and Doretha Latta Besch, has one brother and five sisters. He attended Northeast High School and worked at Kansas City Star as a paper boy when he was younger. He was a Marine and served his country for 4 years. William had two children from a previous marriage Mary, and Lori. He worked and retired from United Parcel Service. William married Lois Smith Boyer in 1970 with three children and blended their family's happily for 54 years.

William enjoyed playing golf, tennis and was very good at wood working and made a murphy bed and many more projects. He loved RV traveling for ten years after retirement from UPS as number one driver of the big trucks for thirty-five years.

Services will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church, 3736 Lee's Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055, on Friday, January 17, 2025. Family will greet guest from 10-11am for Visitation, with Mass following at 11am. William will be laid to rest in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge, Kansas City, MO 64138.

In lieu of flowers, family suggest contributions be made to St. Mark Catholic Church.
