William Lee Burchett, born on July 29, 1961, in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on December 22, 2024, at his home in Lee's Summit, Missouri. He was 63 years old.
Bill dedicated much of his life working various positions in various jobs, but had a particular passion for landscaping. His work was characterized by a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and a desire to enhance the outdoor spaces that surrounded him. Bill's commitment to his craft was evident in everything he did; he brought a perfectionist's touch to each project, often pouring his heart and soul into making the environments he worked in truly special. He was known for his hard-headedness and stubborn nature, but it was paired with an immense heart. He would go to great lengths for those around him, showing a selflessness that left a lasting impact on family, friends, and strangers alike. Bill had a profound love for animals, a trait he shared with his father. He was often found protecting and nurturing creatures big and small. In addition to his love for animals, he cherished the outdoors. Fishing, spending time on and in the water, and enjoying weekends at the Ozarks were some of his favorite pastimes, moments that brought him joy and fulfillment. Whether it was yard work, fixing cars, or helping others with any task they faced, Bill was always ready to lend a hand. He was a lifelong learner who was not afraid to tackle new challenges, often seeking to learn the best way to accomplish any job, day or night, rain or shine.
Bill's passing was preceded by his father, David Lee Burchett. His legacy of love and kindness will continue through his best friend and wife, Paige Summers; his children, Maggie Burchett, Heather Burchett, and Jeremy Burchett; his mother, Betty Burchett; his siblings, Brian Stapleton and Linda Goldman (Chuck), and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
