William "Bill" John Rockers III, affectionately as Bill, passed away on February 10, 2024. He was 83 years old.
Bill was born on February 10, 1940, to William and Veronica Rockers in Kansas City, Missouri. Bill's educational journey began at St. Mary's High School, where he laid the foundation for his future accomplishments. After completing high school, Bill's thirst for knowledge led him to pursue higher education. He proved his mettle by earning not one but two master's degrees—a testament to his unwavering dedication and commitment to academic excellence. Bill's humility shone through even in his professional endeavors. Throughout his career, he excelled in various roles where intelligence was paramount. Despite accolades and recognition from peers and superiors alike, he remained humble. In 1966, Bill joined the United States Army and served with great honor and distinction until 1968. Outside of work, Bill enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. Family meant everything to him, and he cherished every moment creating memories with them.
Bill was preceded in his passing by his parents; William and Veronica Rockers, his brother; Edward Rockers, and his beloved cat; Ms. Jane. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years; Phyllis Rockers, his children; Robert "Bob" Rockers (Lisa) and Rebecca Rockers, his granddaughters; Portia Rockers, Reagan Rockers, and Tatum Rockers, as well as his two dogs.
A visitation is scheduled to take place on February 17, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass at 10:30 a.m., both at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church (4313 MO-7, Blue Springs, MO 64014). A graveside will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Raytown, Missouri.
