William Ray “Bill” Clark, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on March 6th, 2024, in Blue Springs, Missouri. Bill was born in Hopkins County, Kentucky, on June 28th, 1949, to Ray and Ava (Akins) Clark. William led a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and selflessness.
Bill dedicated most of his life to his craft as a carpenter for Local #61 Carpenters Union until his well-deserved retirement at the age of 55. He was known as a jack of all trades and took immense pride in his work.
His warm and caring nature shone through in every aspect of his life. Bill's family meant everything to him; he would drop everything at any time to come to their aid. He found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren, even embarking on unforgettable vacations with them - visiting an impressive 14 states in just 13 days. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing at his grandson Cody's pond, enjoying the solace of nature and creating memories that will forever be held close to their hearts. To his great-grandchildren, he was affectionately known as "Grandpa Candy". Bill’s presence would light up the room. His quick wit and sense of humor drew people to him and he left a lasting impact on those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Bill took great pride in his family and his yardwork. He was known to always have pristine landscaping. He enjoyed being outdoors. Bill also had a fondness for the thrill of casinos and the vibrant energy of Las Vegas with his wife, Gloria.
Though Bill may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Gloria (Chaney) Clark; daughter, Tammie Waller (Rob); grandchildren, Cody Schooler (Lece), Matt Schooler (Esther), Dustin Rusk (Megan) and Krystal Prosser (Jon); brothers, Sid and Raymond Clark; and 10 great grandchildren.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Ava Clark; daughter, Shelia Blakeman; grandson, Bradley Burlingame and 7 siblings.
