William Charles Dye Jr., 71, passed away on February 13, 2024, in Independence, MO. He was born on September 30, 1952, in Kansas City, MO, to William and Mary Dye Sr. William graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1971. He married his lady Beth on April 21, 1979, and they went on to have two beautiful daughters. He resided in Independence. MO his whole life. William was a police officer for almost 20 years, serving in Lake Lotawana, Independence, and Buckner. He changed careers to installing telephone bays and then finished his career in security with Allied Barton. He was a lover of Nascar, especially Dale Earnhardt and Kevin Harvick, and going to the racetrack. William enjoyed going to his grandson’s sporting events and loved to watch and cheer on the Chiefs. He enjoyed reading and loved listening to all types of music, from the Beatles to Metallica to Fleetwood Mac.
He is preceded in death by his parents William and Mary Dye and his son in law Joseph Powell. He is survived by his wife of almost 45 years Elizabeth “Beth” Dye, his daughters Rachel Powell and Paige Sheldon (Brad), and two grandsons Alex and Emet Powell.
A visitation for William will be held on Monday February 19, 2024, at Speaks Suburban Chapel (18020 E 39th St S. Independence, MO 64055) from 10:00 am-10:30 am with a funeral service following at 10:30am. He will be laid to rest at Park Lawn Cemetery.
