William Dewey Tindall III, 75, of Independence, MO, passed away at North Kansas City Hospital on Friday, June 14, 2024 from injuries received in a motorcycle accident on Thursday June 13, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2024 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel with burial to follow in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5-7:00 p.m., Thursday evening, June 20, at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his name to the Community Service League. Bill was born September 28, 1948 in Kansas City, MO to William Dewey Tindall II and Marybelle (Evans) and has been a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Lee’s Summit High School and enlisted in the Marine Corps. He proudly served in combat in the Marine Corps in the Vietnam War from 1968-70. He has worked as a draftsman for several companies, most recently for Burns & McDonnell. He enjoyed fishing, fly fishing, hunting, archery, and riding motorcycles. He was a good handyman and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the Woods Chapel Community of Christ congregation, Lee's Summit, MO. Survivors include; a son, Evan Tindall and wife Sandra of Lee's Summit; daughter, Jana Soule and husband, Kenny of Sugar Creek; step-daughter Sarah Duncan of Kansas City, MO; 2 brothers Gary Tindall and wife Charlene of Weston, MO and Duane Tindall and wife Jill of Kansas City, MO; a sister, Suzanne Cox and husband Ron of Edwards, MO; 2 half-sisters, Martye DeJung and husband Tim of Omaha, NE and Mary Graham of Sutton, NE; former wife and mother of their children Marilyn Tindall of Independence, MO and former wife Christine Sharp of Independence, MO; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
