Gene Williams, 78, of Independence, MO passed away January 18, 2019. Per Gene’s request cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date. Albert was born on January 12, 1941 in Kansas City, MO to Elbert and Evelyn (Woolard) Williams. He was a graduate of Central High School and attended Church of The Four Corners. He worked for the Independence school District and Calvary Baptist Church after retiring from General Motors after 26 years of service. Gene was straight forward but loved to give everyone a hard time. In retirement he enjoyed helping his wife with crafts, hunting and camping. He truly enjoyed being in the outdoors. Gene was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Survivors include: wife of over 47 years, Brenda (James) Williams; daughter Kimberly Peterson and her husband Jimmy; son Darryl Williams and his wife Chalene; daughter Sonya McManus; daughter Andrea Porter and her husband Mark; grandchildren: Keri Sandford, Joseph Sandford, Ryan Williams and his wife Casey, Tyler Williams, Johanna Williams, Reagan Williams, Ashley Johnson and her husband Jared, Dalton McManus, Clayton McManus, Austin Porter, Logan Porter and Maliea Porter; great grandchildren: Rylee Williams, Kaylee Williams, Skyler Williams, Kipton Johnson and Konner Johnson; a large extended family and many friends.
