Alvin Williams, known to friends as “Gene,” passed away on July 1, 2021 at the age of 89 years. Gene died peacefully with his children, Teresa & Gene Jr. by his side.
He was born on September 12, 1931 in Independence, Missouri.
Gene had a 40 year career with the Independence Gas Service Company. After retiring he was known to always be helping friends and family with any and all projects – he was a man who loved to work with his hands. He also enjoyed trips with his children and favored visiting Las Vegas to play the slot machines and people watch. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and Kansas City Royals.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Teresa Allen (Robert) of Lee Summit, MO, and Gene Williams (Shawn) of Farmington, MO; grandchildren, Christy Rutherford (Scott) of Downingtown, PA; Robert Allen (Scarlett) of Brewster, NY; Macy Williams of Pensacola, FL, and Alvin Eugene Williams, III (Shannon) of Goodyear, AZ; great grandchildren Chase, Styla, Joslyn, Savy, Robert Thomas, and Alvin Eugene IV; and a host of extended family and close friends.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 10am at Mound Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Guard in Gene’s memory.
