Bob Williams (Robert Lee Williams, 1936–2022), loving husband of Judy Williams, attentive and supportive father of Jeff, Julie, and Joey, encouraging grandfather of Kyle and Hana Lee, and adoring great-grandfather of Jones Robert Lee, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the age of 85. Bob and Judy celebrated 66 years of marriage in June.
His older sister Beverly Thomas (Aunt June) passed just last year, leaving his younger sisters Lois Campbell and Debbie Culp, who miss them both, dearly. He was brother-in-law and uncle to the Thomas, Norman, Campbell, Williams, Culp, Barker, and Stevenson families.
Bob and Judy moved to Independence from Kingsville, Missouri, in 1971, and served the church for two years as part of the Center Stake Peace Corps. Bob became President of Shoco Aluminum on the Independence Square in 1984 and was still running the business when he passed. He leaves behind a strong legacy of faith and faithful ministry, dependability, integrity, commitment to community and community building, love of youth and youth camping, and a passion for service to friends, family, and others through his participation in organizations helping those in need (especially in Lions Club and Community Service League’s weekly “Neighborhood Dinner” held at the Stone Church).
