Dolores Joy Williams (Waage)

December 17, 1928 — April 14, 2020

Dolores Joy (Waage) Williams was born to Clarence and Emma Waage on December 17th, 1928, in Luverne, Minnesota; she spent her childhood residing in Pipestone, Minnesota. At age 12, she moved to Missouri where she completed her education, graduating from William Chrisman High School in 1946. After high school, Dolores completed comptometer school and worked at jobs such as the credit bureau and an operator at the phone company, among others.
She married Robert (Bob) L. Williams on November 15th, 1947 in Independence, Missouri. Together they physically built their first home, also in Independence, along with the assistance of some friends and family. They remained in that home until 1990 when they moved to Blue Springs, Missouri. In 1951, Dolores gave birth to Patricia (Patt) Ann (Williams) Tosser and in 1957, to Debra (Debi) Kay (Williams) McClintock. Dolores was primarily a full time mother and wife, who took great care of her family and who was involved in PTA and was continually a room mother for her daughters’ classrooms in elementary school.

Dolores was an active member of the South Crysler Community of Christ (formerly RLDS) Church in Independence, MO. She was involved over the years with Bible school, Skylarks, Sunday school, Zion’s League Leader, and Young adults. In her later years she volunteered with a church group to make and provide pillows for the patients at Centerpoint Hospital in Independence. She remained a member of the South Crysler congregation until her death.

Dolores was an outstanding seamstress, who also loved to embroider, making things for family and friends. She also enjoyed making holiday treats and square dancing, as well as playing cards and games with family and friends. She always seemed to win at any games she played!

Everyone who knew Dolores would talk about how kind and caring she was, as well as how mild mannered she was and the term, “ sweet” was frequently used to describe her. She always put others before herself.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her infant twin siblings, her 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and her beloved husband of 67 years, Bob, who passed away in 2014.

Dolores is survived by her two daughters, Patt Tosser (Jim), and Debi McClintock (Dale); three grandchildren, Michele (Logan) Smith, Shayna (Gary) Mansell, and Jason (Kay) McClintock; 4 biological great grandchildren, with another due in July, and 3 step great grandchildren.
