Evalyn Fern Williams was born on December 11, 1916 to Frank N. and Blanche May (Northrup) Wilhelm on a farm near Marietta, Illinois. She went home to be with the Lord on December 2, 2014, just shy of her 98th birthday.
On February 11, 1938, she married Joseph Emerson Williams - now deceased - and had a son, Roger. In Aledo, IL, she worked nights as an LPN. She moved to Independence, MO in 1963 and took schooling to become a medical records technician, working 25 years as a supervisor of medical transcription for Independence Regional Health Center (SAN).
In retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at the Community of Christ Temple and at her church where she served as an elder. In her final days of life she was still on the prayer chain calling others about specific needs.
Preceding her in death were her parents, an infant brother, brother Carl, and sister Berniece.
She is survived by her son, Roger L. Williams and wife Suzie of Kimberling City, MO; grandson Mark D. Williams and wife Stacie of Branson, MO; Paul A. Williams and wife Lee Ann of Manitou Springs, CO; Adam S. Williams and wife Becca of Ballwin, MO; great-grandchildren: Nicole, Stephanie, Gabriel, Timothy Eli, Luke, Ty, Libby, Taos, and Jasper.
The family encourages donations be made to Blue Ridge Community of Christ Scholarship Fund.
A service will be held on Saturday, December 6, at 1:00pm, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Indep., MO. Family will greet friends a half-hour prior to the funeral service.
