Richard Ollie Williams

Richard Williams, 72, of Blue Springs passed away on January 20, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Visitation will be from 10-12 pm Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Inurnment will take place 12 pm on April 17, 2018 with full Military Honors at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Richard was born on October 14, 1945 in Mobile, AL to Ollie and Rosemary (Tetrick) Williams. He was raised in Springfield, MO and received his BS in Education from MO State University and also completed the ROTC program. Richard attended Flight School at Ft. Rucker, AL after which he did a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1970-1971. After his return home he married the love of his life, Alice Kuhnert on November 26, 1971. Richard returned to complete his education and received his Masters from the University of Central Missouri. Survivors include; wife of 46 years., Alice Williams; son Jim Williams and his wife Shannon; daughter Mary Williams; grandchildren Lillie and Sam Williams; brother Tim Williams and his wife Janice; a large extended family and many friends. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Rosemary Williams. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
