Robert L. Williams, 76, of Independence, MO, passed away, Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at his residence. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2004 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Friday prior to the service at the chapel. Robert was born July 19, 1928 in Chillicothe, MO to Virgil M. and Clara M. (Fitzpatrick) Williams. He worked in the paint department at the General Motors Fairfax Plant for 43 years until his retirement in 1993. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the Army. He was a member of the UAW local #31 and the V.F.W. in Independence, MO. He was married to Violet (Hibler) on May 4, 1954. She survives of the home. Other survivors include; 2 daughters, Pam Rago and her husband Michael of Independence, MO and Kellie Williams of Abilene, KS; a son, Tim L. Williams and his wife Sarah of Independence, MO; 3 sisters, Delores Lentz of Prairie Village, KS, Norma Jean Wrigley and Mary Ellen Cockerell both of Las Vegas, NV; 5 granddaughters, Terra Golden, Megan Copenhaver, Bailey Williams, Cassandra Newman and Graci Robinson; 2 great grandsons, Brady Golden and Tyler Golden. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Williams in 2001. Donations may be made to St. Jude�s Hospital.
