Walter James Williams, 63, Independence, MO passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014.
Walter was born June 15, 1951 in Kansas City, MO the son of Albert James and Vivian (Brixie) Williams. He worked for the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority as facilities mechanic, retiring after 41 years. Walter was also a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1287. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and loved being with his family.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Dennis Worley; and father-in-law, Homer Worley. Survivors include his loving wife Connie Williams of 42 years; daughter, Kelly Elizabeth Walker and husband Steve; son, Greg Williams; grandchildren, Douglas Williams, Taliah Tofa, and Chase Bunce; sister-in-laws, Sandra Childers and husband Ron, Cheryl Gondran, Karen LaMartina and husband Tim, Ida Worley; and a host of family and friends.
A memorial visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052.
