Juanita Williamson

July 16, 1908 — May 15, 2005

Juanita P. Williamson, 96, of Independence, MO passed away May 15, 2005 at St. Mary�s Manor. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel, with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Independence. Juanita was born on July 16, 1908 in Batavia, Iowa to Benjamin B. Parrett and Nora (Thompson) Parrett. The family moved to Odessa, MO and later moved to Independence, MO where Nita grew up. She graduated from William. Chrisman High School. Nita was baptized in the First Presbyterian Church of Independence, and her Christian faith has been important in her life. On January 1, 1933 she was married to Angus E. "Bud� Williamson in Liberty, MO. Nita and Bud had been married for 65 years, before his death in 1998. Nita held some responsible positions during her lifetime. She was a manager of B. and G. Hosiery for a number of years. After the beginning of WWII she was the supervisor of safety for the Lake City Arsenal. Another position she enjoyed was that of a buyer for Adler�s Ladies Apparel and making trips to New York. Nita was always very fashion conscious. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Angus "Bud� Williamson; one brother, Elmo Parrett; and one sister, Anna Hester Young. Her survivors include a nephew, Harry D. Young of Independence, MO; two great nephews, Scott A. Young and Mark R. Young, both of Blue Springs, MO.
