Hazel Laverne Willis

Hazel LaVerne Willis, 82 of Independence passed away Thu. Nov. 23, 2006 at her home. Graveside services will be 10:30 am Mon. Nov. 27, 2006 in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 - 8:30 pm Sunday at the Carson- Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Indep. MO. Mrs. Willis was born on Jun 17, 1924 to Sadie and Horace Jewette in Bells, TN. She worked for several years in Independence School Cafeteria and was a loving homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family and collecting Fenton Glass. Mrs. Willis was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Willis, a son, James Michael Willis and a sister, Maxine. She is survived by two daughter, Joyce Dever and husband Roy and Pat Kilgore, all of Independence. Two sisters, Jean Upton and Geraldine Whitman, both of Tennessee. Four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
