Carolyn Kay Wilson, of Lee’s Summit, MO, an artist and a dear friend to many people, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020. She was 78.
Carolyn entered this world on October 29, 1942 in Turner, KS, the child of Wylmer H. and Thelma A. (Turner) Jones. A few years after graduating from Van Horn High School, she married her beloved husband Charles “Chuck” Wilson and together, they made a house a home.
Carolyn went on to graduate with her bachelor’s degree from Michigan University in Ann Arbor, MI. She co-created “Next Step Studio & Gallery” with her friend Kaiser Suidan contributing her own ceramic art talent as well. Carolyn adored getting together with her “Van Horn Bunko Babes”. She was an animal lover, flower gardener, and admirer of all things colorful.
Carolyn leaves behind her sister, Janice Hisch of Independence; niece, Amanda Laframboise of Blue Springs; nephew, Chris Hisch of Independence; great-nieces and nephew, Hunter, Emmerson and Chelsea; as well as, her beloved fur-baby, Cubie.
She also leaves behind many close friends that were very important to her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; and her daughter, Rochelle Wilson.
