Esta May Wilson, age 87, of Independence, Mo passed away on Thursday May 5, 2022. Esta, born November 3rd, 1934 in Cumming, Ga, will be lovingly remembered by her two children, Sheila A. Dyck and Shirley M. Hutchison; as well as her 5 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her large and loving family, Esta had numerous friends and loved ones that she considered to be extended family. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Eilisa Justine McQuitty.
Esta will be remembered for many things in her long and very full life, but above all else will be her kindness and passion for helping others. She had an immense love for her family and friends and would never hesitate to help those that she held within that large circle. In her was the kind of fire, love, and desire to help all those around her that made her life so special. Everyone whose life she touched will forever carry the light she shone in this world and her memory will forever continue to carry on through them. Esta lived life to the fullest and lived it freely through her favorite things. She loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing and boating with family and friends, playing cards, singing karaoke, and she loved her relationship with God.
A visitation to honor Esta will be held from 9-10:00 a.m., Monday, May 16, with a funeral service to follow, at 10:00 a.m., both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. She will be laid to rest at Mount Washington Cemetery in Independence, MO.
In Esta’s memory, the family suggests contributions to be made to the Rose of Sharon Pentecostal Church, 9621 E. 38th Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64133
