Evelyn A. Wilson, 84, of Independence, MO passed on to a better life on February 17, 2006 at the Rosewood Health Center. Visitation will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Suburban Chapel. Burial at Mound Grove Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Rosewood Health Center. Evelyn was born on November 4, 1921 in Cosmopolis, WA to Vernon and Elsie Spear. She attended Graceland College in Lamoni, IA for one year. She married Clyde Wilson, and they had two children. Evelyn lived with her husband and children in Warrensburg, MO. While there, she was active in the RLDS church, including being a Friendly Visitor and playing the piano and organ for church. After moving to Independence, MO she continued as a devoted member of the Community of Christ Church at East Alton. Evelyn�s most treasured ministry was the close relationships that she maintained with East Alton members through visits, phone calls and personalized cards. She will be dearly missed. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Clyde R. Wilson in 2001. She is survived by one son, Paul Wilson and his wife, Anita, of Independence, MO; one daughter, Joan Hackney and her husband, Richard, of Yuba City, CA; two cousins, Dale Winter and Betty Hart, both of CA; three granddaughters, Erin Berry, Kelli Pement and Jessica Pross; and five great grandchildren.
