Irene Rosalie Wilson

Irene R. Wilson, 87, of Kansas City, MO passed away on January 7, 2006, at the John Knox Village Care Center. The visitation will be held from 10-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 11, at St. Matthew the Apostle, Kansas City, MO. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Irene was born on August 8, 1919 in Ramona, KS to Stanley and Elsie Hajek. She was active in the Catholic Church, serving in the Altar and Rosary Society, and traveling on many church trips. For the last four years she lived at John Knox Village Care Center, but prior to that she enjoyed serving as treasurer for her Lindberg Building at John Knox. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who lived for her family and she will be dearly missed. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wilson; son, John Wilson; granddaughter, Tracie Wilson; and sister, Veronica Crist. She is survived by her six children, Carolyn Hurt, Dennis Wilson, Marilyn Armstrong, Deborah Turner, Mark Wilson and Ralph Wilson; one brother, Martin Hajek; one sister, Lorraine Ward; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Matthew the Apostle the Building Fund.
