Mark Wilson, 62, of Grain Valley, MO and Stover, MO passed away peacefully at his lake house on Wednesday, August 16, 2017. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. A service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the chapel. Interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mark was born on June 22, 1955 in Kansas City, MO to Jack and Irene (Hajek) Wilson. He married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Gorman in November 1974. Together they had 3 daughters and made many memories. He spent his entire career as a meat cutter for Ball’s Price Chopper. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting pool, drinking Budweiser, watching the Chiefs and Royals, and delegating jobs to other people. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends and hanging out at the lake house.
Mark will be remembered by his wife Nancy Wilson of Grain Valley, MO; daughters Mendy Wilson of Independence, MO, Christina Drees and husband Phillip of Grain Valley, MO, Nicole Wilson of Grain Valley, MO; sister Carolyn Hurt; brother Dennis Wilson and wife Joan; sister Debbie Turner and husband Brian; brother Ralph Wilson and wife Beth; grandsons Daniel Drees, Carter Drees, and Isaac Drees; plus many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Wilson, sister Marilyn Armstrong, and niece Tracie Wilson.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Missouri Department of Conservation.
