Mark Wilson

Mark Wilson, 55, of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016. A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO, 64055. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 15, 2016 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church 3736 S. Lees Summit Rd, Independence, MO, 64055. Mark was born March 24, 1961 in Kansas City, MO to Charles and Leora Wilson. He owned and operated Professional Floors for 39 years and really enjoyed staying busy. In his free time, he coached sports for his kids when they were younger. Mark was a lifelong Kansas City Royals and Chiefs fan. He mostly loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Mark will be remembered by his loving wife, Sharon, of the home; daughter Amanda Hawkins and husband Derek of Independence, MO; sons Michael Wilson and wife Lacey of Greenwood, MO, Scott Wilson of Kansas City, MO; brothers David Wilson and wife Gloria of Stockton, CA, Brad Wilson and wife Cathy of Garrison, ND; sister Cindy Wiles of Independence, MO; and grandchildren Gracie Mae, Cooper, Ellie, Gavin, and Hope. Mark was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law J.R. Wiles. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Free to Breathe and Children’s Mercy Hospitals.
