Ruth H. Wilson

Ruth H. Wilson, 97 of Independence passed away Aug 31, 2005 at her home. Graveside services will be 2:30 pm Fri. Sep. 2, 2005 at Park Lawn Cemetery. Ruth was born in a log cabin in Troy, MO to Alfred and Clementine (Norton) Watson. She moved to Kansas City when she was 14, there she met her husband to be, Leonard Wilson. They were married on July 16, 1924, when she was 16 years old. Ruth and Leonard were sweethearts all their married life until Leonard passed away after 49 years of marriage. They loved fishing and traveling. Ruth loved to sew and crochet. She was the cafeteria manager of four Rock Creek Schools, The KC Assistant Director of School Food Service, Manager of Southwest Cafeteria and ended her career as manager of Van Horn Cafeteria. She was past president of the Missouri School Food Service Association and was a member of the Kansas City Baptist Temple and the VFW Post 1219 Auxiliary. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Leonard in 1973, Grandson Tom Martin and Great Grandson Spencer Martin. She is survived by two daughters, Billie Wilson and Jean Ragan and husband Ed. Four grandchildren, Linda and husband Jim Gray, Kathy and husband Ron Moore, Jim Ragan and wife Sue and Gary Ragan and wife Sandy. Eight great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Ruth loved her family dearly. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank Hospice of St. Luke�s for the care of our loved one.
