William Wilson

January 8, 1924 — December 15, 2004

William Henry "Bill� Wilson, 80 of Independence, MO, peacefully passed away, Dec. 15, 2004 at his home. Services will be 11:00 am, Sat, Dec 18, 2004 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sat. at Adams Cemetery, Warrensburg, MO. In Lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Bill Wilson Memorial Fund at Beverly Hills Baptist Church, 1229 W. 31st St., Independence, MO 64052. Bill was born on Jan 8, 1924 in Oakhurst, TX to William Hall and Erma (Johnson) Wilson. Following graduation from High school during WWII, he enlisted in the Army Air Corp on Dec. 7, 1942. He proudly served in the 442nd Airborne Division as a glider Co-pilot and mechanic, while stationed in both England and France. His years of service to his country was an important integral part of his life. While stationed at Whiteman AFB in Knobnoster, MO, he met Maxine Sproat of Warrensburg, MO and they married following the war. They moved to Independence, MO, where they raised their family and then remained a lifelong resident. Bill worked for 31 years for the General Motors Corporation at the Leeds Plant in KCMO. He was an active member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Trustee and Church Moderator. He was an avid bow hunter and loved the outdoors. Bill was a great husband and father. We will miss him and his many "stories� dearly. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Maxine Wilson of Independence, MO. Four daughters, Linda Baschnagel and husband Steve of Fort Myers, FL, Billie Bauer and husband Kelly of Overland Park, KS, Sharon French and husband Steve of Lakeville, MN and Nicki Adler and husband Ken of Independence, MO. Bill is also survived by four grandchildren; Ryann Bauer of Overland Park, KS, Derek and Kylie Adler of Independence, MO and Ross French of Lakeville, MN
