Helena Gail Wilwerding, 80, passed away February 2, 2015. A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. with Funeral services from 10:00-11:00 Saturday, February 7th 2015 at Carson Speaks Chapel; 1501 W Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. An internment service will be directly following the visitation at Oak Ridge Memory Garden Cemetery, Independence, MO. She was born on September 12th, 1934, in Kansas City, MO, to Ernest Barnes and Lue Barnes Stow. She graduated as Class Valedictorian from Lee Summit High School. She was a loving, kind, compassionate, caring, praying, Godly example of a sincere Christian. Helena is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jacob Wilwerding. Helena is survived by; son David Wilwerding (Lissette); daughters Linda Sneed (Glenn), Elizabeth Ruff, and Rachel Stockdale (Richard); 13 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. Helena was deeply loved and will be missed by her family. Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army in Helena’s memory.
