Norma Wine

Norma J. Wine, 76, of Independence, Mo., went home to be with her Lord Sat., Oct. 15, 2011. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am with the service following at 12 noon on Sat., Oct. 22, 2011 at the Beverly Hills Baptist Church, 1229 W. 31st St. Independence, Mo. 64055. Burial will be at Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider giving to the music ministry of the Beverly Hills Baptist Church.
Norma was born June 4, 1935 to Louis and Ila Stribling in Joplin, Mo. She was married on May 14th, 1955 to her husband of 56 years Stewart Wine. She stood by her husband’s side as a pastor’s wife in the Kansas City area and also in Germany and England. She was “mom” and “grandma” to the many families that she ministered to and was much loved by her church family. Norma was a member of the Beverly Hills Baptist Church for 16 years. She was an accomplished pianist and soloist, singing in the choir and blessing everyone with her beautiful voice. Norma loved her family. She loved being with them and leaves them with wonderful memories. But most of all Norma loved her Savior. She spent her life serving Him and leaves those left behind a legacy of faith.
Norma is survived by her husband Stewart Wine; three children: Patra Mason and husband Chuck, Debra Koehler and husband Dirk, John Gibbs and wife Peggy; twelve grandchildren: Valerie Mason, Bethany Paule and husband Ryan, Trae Mason, Katherine Vandevender and husband Blake, Angel Mason, Josh Foster, Alissa Foster, Rebekah Melicia and husband Paul, Shawn Gibbs and wife Audrey, Scott Gibbs and wife Melissa, Brett Gibbs and wife Rebecca, Julie Gibbs; sister-in-law Gail Cook and husband Charles; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Norma also leaves behind children and grandchildren that the Lord gave her as a special blessing. John and Sue Foster and grandchildren Elizabeth Foster, Jonathon Foster and James Foster.
