Michael Warren Winfrey, Kansas City, Missouri, entered the gates of heaven on May 11, 2023. He was born in Burlington, CO on September 28, 1948. Mike leaves behind his wife and love of his life Patty, his daughter Amy Collins, and husband Dennis, who lovingly called him Daddy-o, step children, Shelley Klamm (Scott), Beth Hick, John Runions (Natalie) and 5 step grandchildren, his sister Ruth Carter and husband Fred, Pleasant Valley, California, and their family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ellen Winfrey, daughter Angela Leigh Winfrey, Stephan Collins, and best friend Jim Grinlinton.
Mike was co-owner with Rick Hunter and Lori Burns of Hotrod Express, in Blue Springs, Missouri. They were a team unsurpassed in the business. In his lifelong love of hotrods he built and enjoyed several world-class hotrods of his own, and he was the go-to-guy as he guided those who shared his love of the sport. Mike loved his Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. He was a member of the Rod-tiques car club since its inception in 1970. Mike leaves behind a host of friends who will never forget his kindness and gentle spirit. He cared about everyone who knew him. He was truly one of the good ones.
