Wesley Eugene “Wes” Winter, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 5, 2021. He was 90 years old. Wes was born to William and Anna Winter on May 25, 1931 in Osceola, Missouri.
After graduating high school Wes proudly served his country in the United States
Army for 4 years. Shortly after he found and married the love of his life, Margaret. They spent the next 45 years creating a life together. Wes was a hard worker and provider. He held several jobs to support his growing family throughout the years. He was a mechanic, owned an oil and lube shop, his own fleet company and retired after many years in maintenance at a retirement community. Wes enjoyed playing bingo, casinos, watching the Chiefs play ball and spending time with his family. He was also involved in organizations such as the local VFW, Knights of Pythias and was a post commander for 7 years. Wes was a flirt with a charming personality and never knew a stranger. He will be greatly missed.
Wes is survived by his sons, Phillip Winter (Michelle Brewer), Michael Winter and Steven Winter (Olivia); daughters, Kathy Edwards (Bob) and Sheryle Todd (Jeffrey); grandchildren, Austin, Leland, William, Heather, Tonya, Lance, Tiffany and Kenneth; great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Bjorn, Damian, Samantha, Nicholas and Dakota.
He was preceded by his beloved wife, Margaret, parents and daughter, Debra Noland.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 13th from 6-8pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri. His funeral service will take place at 2pm on Tuesday, December 14th with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.
