Maxine Wittmeyer
Maxine Wittmeyer, 89, of Independence, Missouri died May 20, 2006 at the Independence Health Care Center. Mrs. Wittmeyer will lie in state at Carson-Speaks Chapel on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at Carson-Speaks Chapel with interment following in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. Maxine was born on October 30, 1916 in Odessa, Missouri the daughter of Hugh and Clara Wahn Vermillion. She attended Odessa Schools. She was a member of the Mt. Washington Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, worked in the Food Pantry, did volunteer sewing of infant wear and blankets, and was a member of the Missionary Group. Maxine was married to Albert Wittmeyer Jr. on October 19, 1935. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1983 as did two of her children, a daughter Marijo Kerr who died on June 5, 2000 and a son David Lee Wittmeyer who died on October 14, 1994. She is survived by two sons, Albert J. "Jerry� Wittmeyer and wife JoAnn of Kansas City, Mo., Wayne Thomas "Tom� Wittmeyer and wife Karen of Jefferson City, Mo., a son-in-law James "Bo� Kerr of Independence, Mo., a brother Cecil Vermillion of Kansas City, Mo., a sister Shirley McFarlane of Quinlan, Texas, Six Grandchildren, Twelve Great Grandchildren, and Three Great-Great Grandchildren.
