PAUL ALOYSIUS WOLFGEHER
Paul Wolfgeher, 84, of Independence, MO, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016. A visitation will be from 9-10 am on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. A service will follow at 10am. Interment will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery at 1pm that day.
Paul was born on January 31, 1932 in Kansas City, MO to Joseph and Katharina Wolfgeher. After graduating high school, Paul joined the United States Army serving in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in August 1960 and began working for Townsend Printing. In his free time he volunteered at Liberty Memorial and visited area schools to talk to the children about his time in the Army. Paul touched many lives. He was in scouts, the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, VFW Post 4242 and also part of the Friends of Korean Association. Paul enjoyed participating in local parades with the VFW. He was chosen to be on the Honor Flight KC to Washington D.C. in 2014.
He will be remembered by his wife of 46 years Marjorie Wolfgeher of Independence, MO; sons Paul Wolfgeher and wife Emily of Edmond, OK, Scott Wolfgeher of Independence, MO, Don Wolfgeher of Chicago, IL; brother Ralph Wolfgeher and wife Carmen of Independence, MO; grandchildren Brian Wolfgeher, Kevin Wolfgeher, Excene Spencer and husband Tyler; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his brothers Frank, Stephan, Wilbert, Bernard, and Joseph, and by his sister Rose Marie.
