Charlene Wood, 73, Belton, MO, passed away June 26, 2012. Services will be 10 am, Sat., June 30 at Speaks Chapel 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055, followed by graveside services at 3:30 pm at Bunce Cemetery, Elmer, MO. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Friday at the chapel.
Charlene was born Oct. 30, 1938 in Kirksville, MO to Raymond & Juanita (Mott) Wood. She and her sister, Darlene, were identical twins. She graduated from Atlanta High School and worked at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City for over forty years. She was an expert bowler and was inducted into the Kansas City Bowling Hall of Fame and the Missouri State United Bowling Congress Hall of Fame. Additionally, she was a Past President of the K.C. Women’s Bowling Association and a member of the Missouri State Bowling Assoc. Board of Directors. She was a huge baseball fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Charlene is survived by her identical twin sister Darlene Sullivan, Independence, MO; sister Loretta Waddle and husband Chuck, Kansas City, MO; aunt Opal Bents, Dumont, IA and several nieces and nephews.
