Doris Elizabeth Wood

Doris E. Wood, 72, of Independence, MO passed away on December 26, 2006, at the Medical Center of Independence. A visitation will be held from 5:30-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at The Life Church, Kansas City, MO. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Independence, MO. Doris was born on January 17, 1934, in Hardy, Arkansas, to Thomas and Berta Walker. She was a member of the Miracle United Pentecostal Church in Lee�s Summit. Doris was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Denise Wood. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Darrell Wood; one son, Darrell A. Wood and wife Vickie; five daughters, Donna Sample and husband Jim, Diane Bax and husband Paul, Delaine Cavanagh and husband Frank, Drusilla Yeisley and husband Shawn, Destynee Trevino and husband Chris; two sisters, Kathryn Vicry and Mildred Jackson; 20 grandchildren; 2 great granddaughters; and many loving nieces and nephews.
