Douglas L. Wood

Douglas L. Wood, 73, Independence, MO passed away on July 21, 2005 at the Medical Center of Independence. A visitation will be held from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2005 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at St. Mark�s Catholic Church, Independence, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mark�s Catholic Church. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Doug was born on June 28, 1932 in Mason City, Iowa to Leonard and Ema Wood. He was a graduate of Drake University, as well as a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. Doug retired from the Helzberg Diamond Corporation after 28 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, E. Virginia Wood; and two daughters, Renee and Karen Wood.
