Kenneth Dale Wood, 84, passed away peacefully at home on September 17, 2020. He was born on February 10, 1936 in Slater, Missouri, to Sylvester and Anna Wood. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1954. He then went on to the United States Army, where he proudly served for three years. Kenneth was a machinist and worked for Constar International for 17 years. He was also a loving son, cousin and friend who had absolutely loved anything to do with old cars and trucks.
Kenneth was a friendly man who never held back from speaking his mind and loved his three cats, Tiger, Tabby and Max. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan and never missed a game on tv. He also enjoyed watching car racing and MU basketball. Kenneth had such an ornery and bubbly personality and he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his cousins, Alice (Steve) Krengel, Patty and Harold; and long-time friend of over 20 years, Yolaunda Bogue. He was preceded in death by his parents Sylvester and Anna L. (Peacher) Wood.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 23, 6-8:00 p.m. with funeral service the following day, Thursday September 24, at 10:00 a.m. at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th. St in Independence, MO. He will be laid to rest at Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence, MO.
