Royce Lee Wood, 74, of Blue Springs, MO passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021. A visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00pm on Wednesday August 25th, with a committal service following at 2:00pm, both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St., Independence, MO 64055.
Royce was born October 23, 1946 in Independence, MO to Marvin and Georgetta (Boxley) Wood. He graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City in 1964. Royce was employed for several years at MO Gas Energy before retiring in 2011. He enjoyed woodworking, spending time in his yard and rebuilding classic cars.
Royce is survived by his beloved wife, Donna (Barr) Wood, his son, Gary Wood of Blue Springs, MO, his daughter, Kerri (Eric) Yarber of Grain Valley, MO; and grandchildren, Jacob Cline of Margate, FL, Courtney, Jaiden and Lauren Yarber, all of Grain Valley, MO.
He is preceded in death by his parents and many beloved dogs, lastly, his Suzie.
