Sandra Kay (Vowells) Woolridge, 60 of Independence, MO, passed away, Friday at Research Medical Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Wednesday at the chapel. Donations may be made to the Kansas City Cancer Center. Sandra was born January 6, 1952 in Kansas City, MO to Roy and Catherine Louise (Garner) Vowells and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a beloved wife mother and homemaker who enjoyed macramé and spending time with family. She had worked as a cashier for Price Chopper for a number of years. She was married to Kenneth Woolridge on July 15, 1972; he survives of the home. Other survivors include; 2 sons, Kevin, Chad and wife Alyssa; a daughter, Dana; 2 sisters, Betty Lou Stanback, Patricia Pace and husband Tom; 2 brothers, Bill Vowells, wife Margie and Roy Vowells; 4 grandchildren, Samantha, Hunter, Isabel and Cayleb and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Mary Canterbury, Donna Adams and a brother Richard Vowells.
