Marguerite E. Worth (Eagan)

August 15, 1927 — September 25, 2016

Marguerite Eagan Worth, 89, of Warrensburg MO, passed away Sept. 25, 2016. Funeral services will be 10 am, Thursday, Sept. 29 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052 with Michael Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm , Wed. at the chapel.
Marguerite was born in Lamar, Colorado on August 15, 1927 to Roy and Royal Pearl (Bradshaw) Eagan. She was the eldest of five children. She attended school in Lamar and graduated from Lamar Union High School in 1945. She was always involved in Music and School and in her church life. She was a soloist and also played snare drums in the band.
After graduation she attended Lamar Junior College and went to Graceland College and graduated in 1949. She returned home to Colorado and went to work for J.C. Penney Co. In 1950 she returned to Graceland and went to work in the business office. While there she met Frederick E. Worth. They were married in 1951 at Palmer Lake in Colorado. To this marriage two children were born. Eugene Reed Worth and Allison Ann Worth (Norwood). Their life together was very active in their church, RLDS church and participated in Daughters of Zion.
Fred and Marguerite enjoyed ownership in Branson Engine and Marine in Branson from 1970 – 1979. They also worked together as owners in Young Furniture Store from 1980 – 1992 until retiring in Branson, MO.
Her husband passed away July 20th, 2009 after they moved to Warrensburg MO to be close to their daughter. She is survived by Eugene Worth (Janet) and Allison Norwood (Scott), their grandson’s Ross Worth (Kim), Joshua Norwood, and Jacob Norwood; two great-grandchildren Shelby and Garrett Worth. She is also survived by her sister Mary Bryant (Maurice), John Eagan (Doris) and Tony Eagan. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Roy (Gretchen) Eagan. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Knob Noster Restoration Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ, 305 E. Bridge Street, Knob Noster and to Johnson County Community Health Hospice, 723 PCA Rd Warrensburg MO 64093. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the JCCHS Hospice in support of her final days.
