Richard Grant “Hoss” Wray, 58 of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020 at his residence. The family will greet friends from 4-5:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Private family service will be held later with cremation to follow. All services will be held under current Covid-19 restrictions of 50 people maximum in our facility at one time with social distancing and masks required. Hoss was born June 13, 1962 in Jefferson City, MO to Luther Patton and Carolyn Perrin. He moved at an early age to Independence and graduated from William Chrisman High School. He had worked as a truck driver for several years. He enjoyed spending time at the lake camping and boating, was an avid KC Chiefs fan and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by; his wife of 33 years, Vicky of the home; 2 daughters, Natasha Wray and Ashley Wightman both of Independence, MO; a son, Jeffrey Remington and wife Jennifer of Independence, MO; 2 brothers, Tom Wray of Sibley, MO and Randall Wray of Kentucky and 3 grandchildren, Elijah Hawkins, Journie Hawkins and Lucy Wightman.
