George Allen Wren, 57 of Independence, MO was called home to his savior following a short battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Thu. Dec. 30 2004 at the VA Medical Center Chapel. Allen was born on Sep 15, 1947 to George & Evelyn (Buck) Wren in Shreveport, LA. His younger days were spent in Tyrone, OK where he graduated form Tyrone High School. He then served four years in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, serving on board the USS Forrestal. Following serving his country he served his Lord as a deacon at the First Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. In 2000 he married Deborah Wren. He had been a custodial Supervisor with Wal-Mart and had recently been a Janitor for Aladdin Janitorial Services. He was a member of the Latter House Church in Liberal, KS. George was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Wren and his wife of 20 years, Carol Wren.. He is survived by his wife, Debbie L. Wren of the home. Six stepchildren, Kathy Raup of the home, Jamie Johnson of Independence, MO, Daniel Johnson of Amarillo, TX, Donald McCulley, Liberal, KS, Ricky McCulley of Tyrone, OK and John McCulley of Seattle, WA. His father and step mother, George and Lois Wren of Liberal, KS, a sister Cherry Staggs of Shreveport, LA, a step sister Starla Hill of Liberal, KS and four grandchildren. Allen was a very loving and caring person and will be greatly missed.
