William “Bill” Wright, 83, of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 10am on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Bill was born on November 28, 1934 in Washington, N.C. to Surry and Dorothy (Norfleet) Wright. He worked as a graphic designer at Gill Studios for 35 years and a member of Maywood Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed classic cars, traveling in the southwest with his wife, and building control line model airplanes, competing in 4 world championships. Bill enjoyed utilizing his creativity and designing things.
He will be remembered by his wife Norma “Kathleen” Wright of Independence, MO; son Doug Wright and wife Jessica of Tennessee; grandchildren Wes Maack, Morgan Maack, Chris Wright, Amy Wright, and Evan Wright; great-grandson Judah Wright; plus extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Deanna Maack, and brother James “Jim” Wright.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Maywood Baptist Give, Serve, Reach Fund.
