Leslie Orville Wyatt, 65, of Independence, MO passed away February 20, 2020. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, at the Suburban Chapel with burial to follow at Blue Springs Cemetery. Leslie was born July 2, 1954 in Kansas City, MO to Leo Lester and Marian Maureen (Sherman) Wyatt. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1972, and went on to work for the Liberty Police Department from 1977 to 1989. He then worked for UMKC Police Department from 1989 to 2010. He was the proud recipient of a proclamation from the City of Liberty, MO. He also received the Telecommunication Officer of the Year Award for the state of Missouri from APCO, when he was with UMKC. He was an avid Cubs fan, and enjoyed watching his team finally win a World Series. He was a huge music lover and was passionate about his hot-rods. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister. Leslie is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Deanna “Dee” Wyatt; three sons, Kyle Wyatt (Kathryn), Michael Wyatt, Jason “Spanky” Wyatt; four grandchildren, Kolten, Kaitlyn “Katie”, Karson “Bubba” and Alexandria “Ali”; his two dogs, Coco and Pebbles; three sisters; and one brother.
