“To make a long story short,” Emil was a Korean War veteran who proudly served in the Army. Afterwards, he worked for Falstaff, where he acquired his love for beer. From there he was employed by Daniels-McCray Lumber, and then Payless Cashways from which he retired. Retirement allowed him to enjoy keeping up his impeccable yard and hustling people in pool. He always loved a good polka and would tell his entertaining stories, complete with impersonations to everyone who would listen!
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary and son, Christopher Yancik. Emil is survived by two daughters, Victoria Thompson (Steven) and Marianne Crosson (Trey); two granddaughters, Nicole Steffen (Chris) and Krystal Thompson; and two great-grandchildren, Cody and Chloe Steffen.
