Mary (Halastik) Yancik, 85, of Sugar Creek, MO, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Nativity of Mary, 10017 E. 36th Terrace, Independence, MO, on Monday, July 11, at 10 am. A Rosary will be said at 5:30pm Sunday, with visitation following from 6-8pm, both at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Nativity of Mary Building Fund in her honor.
She spent her days as a happy homemaker to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, where she would love and feed everyone! On June 2, she celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary to her husband, Emil. Her kindness, humor, and smile will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Yancik. Mary is survived by her husband, Emil; two daughters, Victoria Thompson (Steven) and Marianne Crosson (Trey); two granddaughters, Nicole Steffen (Chris) and Krystal Thompson; and two great-grandchildren, Cody and Chloe Steffen.
