Samuel David Yankee passed away on Saturday, June 26th, 2021. He was 84. Samuel was born to Samuel and Hazel (Burch) Yankee on May 29, 1937 in Independence, Missouri.
After graduating from William Chrisman High School in 1955, Sam attended college at Central Methodist College, graduating in 1959 with a Bachelor's of Art with an emphasis in chemistry.
Within the past few years, Sam retired from Tnemec. He enjoyed bluegrass music, the outdoors with fishing and hunting, and loved spending time with his family. Sam was an incredible fly fisherman. He was also an active member of Duck's Unlimited, the Tribe of Mic-O-Say (Warrior) and an Eagle Scout.
He was preceded in death by both his parents and his beloved wife Janice Chivers Yankee.
Samuel is survived by his sons, David Yankee (Vickie Wright), Tom Yankee, Eric (Jamie) Millsap, and Sam Yankee; 3 grandchildren, Tyler Millsap, David Dalton Yankee and Ryker Millsap; 1 great grandchild, Alison Jean Lynn Yankee.
He will be deeply missed by many friends and family, but especially his kids and grandkids.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 1 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and funeral services on Friday, July 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Carson-Speaks Chapel in Independence, Missouri. Burial will take place at Underwood Cemetery in Lone Jack, Missouri immediately following.

The family strongly encourages masks if not vaccinated.
