Judith Ann Yates, 74 of Kansas City, MO passed away, Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Hidden Lake Care Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Longview Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, 14 Pennsylvania Plaza, Suite 1710 New York, NY 10122. Judith was born March 4, 1939 in Kansas City, MO to John Royer and Alice Louisa (Poe) Sheller, Sr. and has been a lifelong area resident graduating from Park Hill High School in 1957. She had worked for the IRS as a tax examiner for 26 years until her retirement in 2001. Judith was the glue that held the family together. She was a loving caregiver to her husband and loved her family and life and never had a cross word to say about anyone. She is survived by; her loving husband of 57 years, Ernest of the home; a son, Curtis Yates and wife Mary Jean of Kansas City, MO; a daughter, Cindy Inlow and companion Wayne Ellis of Kansas City, MO; 2 brothers, John R. Sheller, Jr. and wife Dorothy of Shawnee, KS and Joseph Berry and wife Linda of Hamilton, MO; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Sue Barrera in 1993 and a grandson, Curtis Dale Yates, Jr. in 1980.
